APPETD provides services specifically tailored to the needs of its members, these include:

Workshops:

3 workshops with a Quality Council per annum and offered preferential membership rates are provided.

8 industry related workshops per annum with preferential membership rates.

Our workshops will expose you to current and relevant issues in our sector.

You will be offered solutions and master classes to improve your skills and knowledge in relevant areas relating to private providers.

Sessions are held at major venues or online.

Help Desk:

A help desk is available to our members where staff will assist with matters concerning accreditation, registration or re-registration with any of the quality councils.

Development Opportunities:

Receive access to research data we conduct or have access to so that you stay up to date with current and relevant information in our sector.

Participate in our global collaborations and events.

Collaborations and Submissions:

We have built relationships with regulatory and statutory bodies, industry councils and committees for the benefit of private providers. You will receive updates from these meetings which will keep you updated and well informed with changes in the education landscape.

We lobby to Government and Government Departments on matters concerning our Providers.

Task Teams:

You will be invited to participate and contribute in specialised task teams that we create on matters arising during the year. A good example is the COVID-19 task teams that were created in April 2020 to deal with the pandemic and impact it has had to seek potential solutions.

Meetings are held online so as to reduce travel costs and in line with COVID-19 requirements.

Accreditation:

Our help desk will aid, guide and give direction to you with accreditation matters.

Should you require extensive assistance on accreditation, you will be introduced to our network that includes consultants who are able to assist you with your accreditation requirements. You will be offered preferential rates.

Compliance and Quality Management:

Information is disseminated on guidance regarding compliance, quality management processes and procedures.

Legal issues often arise in our sector and information is shared with members.

Newsletters and Communiques:

We provide information and advice regarding regulations and legislative changes and these are distributed to our members the moment the information is received.

Newsletter are emailed bi-annually in which we will include industry specific information and developments.

Tenders:

There are opportunities in the year when APPETD receives funding for projects such as Capacity Building Workshops. Members will benefit from these and invited to participate.

Members are invited to apply to the APPETD Tender Committee to be considered for rolling out the training workshops.

Project management is conducted by APPETD on these projects.

Surety Scheme with Mutual and Federal:

APPETD has its own surety scheme with Mutual and Federal and Federal Risk Financing (Pty) Ltd with the assistance of Mallac Hearle and Associates (an authorised FSP) for the benefit of all member providers which complies with DHET (Department of Higher Education Training) requirements.

Members benefit from the scheme by paying a small annual premium based on the number of learners or students registered on full qualifications.

Knowledge Base:

Our Knowledge Base on the website contains a host of documents that include relevant Government policies, Gazettes, Circulars, Letters, Guidelines, links to information.

Partnerships:

There is a close association with CIPPT (Chartered Institute of Professional Practitioners and Trainers) which has registered a set of designations that trainers, facilitators, assessors and moderators can apply to hold. Members will be kept informed on developments and events that will benefit them or their staff.
